Beschreibung

In this publication, a description of the study on smallholder pigeon pea producers market participation in Tete Province of Mozambique is presented. The background to the research problem, statement of the research problem, research objectives, questions and hypothesis, justification and limitations are intrinsically linked in a scholarly manner. Based on relevant literature search and findings of the study an in-depth overview of factors limiting and influencing smallholder participation in pigeon pea markets are well presented. An appropriate theoretical framework that fits well to the statement of the problem is well presented; and in the study the application of transaction cost and collective action theory to smallholder realities in developing countries is well demonstrated. A clear and detailed research methodology that describes the research philosophy, design, population, sampling, limitations, reliability, validity, ethical considerations, and data analysis procedures is presented. Conclusions are drawn in a scholarly manner. This publication shows a clear path that researchers have to follow to conduct and present scientific and academic studies.
