This book is based on a study of the forest birds of the Eastern Ghats of Tamil Nadu, India. The book covers the habitat use of 271 species of birds. These birds vary in their relative abundance from habitat to habitat. Around 16 species are classified as Rare, Endemic and Threatened birds. The book is aimed at students and researchers who are interested in diversity and habitat use of tropical forest birds. The Eastern Ghats of Tamill Nadu is a poorly explored landscape and any book on the biodiversity of the landsacpe will add to the overall conservation value of the various habitats and bird communities therein. This is the first book discussing birds of the Eastern Ghats of Tamil Nadu. It also outlines a conservation strategy for the avifauna of the vast landscape.
